With summertime in full swing but the return of school just around the corner, now is the time to get out and do something fun. While we could write a novel on fun summer activities, we know the time you have available to pursue these activities is limited. Therefore, like everyone, you just pick and choose. And with so many activities from which to choose, it’s hard to pare the list down to just a few. But this is why we’re here to help! Up next are three things you should strongly consider doing this summer.
1. Go to a baseball game
Is there anything that screams “summer” more than a trip to a baseball diamond? No, it doesn’t have to be for a Major League Baseball game, especially since Charlotte doesn’t have an MLB team. The Atlanta Braves are just three hours away, however, and the Charlotte area has more than one semi-pro team worth checking out. These include the Charlotte Knights (in Uptown Charlotte), the Gastonia Honey Hunters and the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers. Even if you don’t have a rooting interest, a night at the ole ballpark will be like medicine for your soul. Plus, baseball games are the definition of family-friendly, so you can bring the whole crew.
2. Attend a concert
After more than a year of no concerts, really anywhere, concerts are back! And the Charlotte area has a bunch of them coming to town before summer’s end. Here’s who’s coming to PNC Pavilion (not to mention the smaller venues) over the next few weeks. You’ll notice some pretty big names here, especially if you’re into country music. Purchase your tickets before it’s too late. Nothing will put you in a better mood than jamming out to some great tunes on a hot summer night.
3. Take a beach trip
If you haven’t scheduled your summer vacation, now is the time. Whether it’s Wilmington or the Outer Banks or Sunset Beach or some other place where you can touch the Atlantic Ocean, it’s critical that you get to a beach as soon as possible. As great as lakes and swimming pools might be, there’s simply no substitute for the water’s edge. You can book some great deals on Expedia, among other places, so be sure to get away. Ocean waves and sand beach will refresh you like nothing else, even if you’re just taking a day trip. Plus, every major beach town in the Southeast has myriad things to do and enjoy.
Final Thought
Even if you aren’t able to participate in any of these fun summer activities, we want you to have the best summer possible. One way you can do this is buying a new home or refinancing your current home. With interest rates low and the market hot like July, it’s a wonderful time to go house hunting.
